Product Reviews

I just got one of the biggest confirmations that I've made it in the blogging world - I got sent stuff to check out and tell all of you about it. So after I finished jumping around the house and high-fiving myself, I opened this new section of the blog, in which I intend to write about products I tried out for you (just for you, am I nice or what?) and I want to recommend.

Disclaimer: some products I get paid to write about, some not, but it doesn't really matter - everything I write is my honest opinion, and if I don't like something I won't write about it since a) it's not that much money that it's worth compromising my integrity; b) I usually try to go with the "if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything" rule. Not in life, just in reviews.

Walkers Hoops & Crosses - Walkers sent me the most beautiful package that contained a packet of the new hoops & crosses snack and a monkey. Okay so they didn't really send a real monkey but Yon was so happy with the cuddly one he got that he snatched it away and put it on his bed so "it will be safe". He refused to taste the snack, so gave his thumbs up to the packaging and toy :).
The Hoops & Crosses snack is a new snack from Walkers. They also sent me an informational booklet that explained everything about the product, but Yon stole it because it contained monkeys. Truth is, I have one rule when it comes for crisps - baked. I love crisps, and so does Ron, and we buy him crisps for his snack time at school. I know I should care more about the nutritious things, but I don't. I find it to be overrated. There I said it. But seriously I am the worst eater I know, so never take an advice from me about serious food. Snacks, however, are my forte. So why the baked rule? Okay you caught me. My rule is that it should be tasty, and the baked ones are tastier (also healthier, and also will not give you indigestion).
So how are the Hoops & Crosses you want to know? Well, I wanted to eat them myself so I could try them for you guys, but Ron beat me to it and ate almost all the package by himself, and in the end Hidai & I got two each to try, and even that was only because we begged him. I asked everyone to answer a short ten-minutes survey afterwards, but they just said it was good. Because they are boys. I, on the other hand can tell you that it's tasty (Actually I thought it reminded me of a snack I ate in Israel as a kid), the packaging is cute, and so are the hoops and crosses (though I have to say it took me a moment to understand the name). If you care about the nutritious things - it's made of corn, it's wholegrain, and has no artificial colours or preservatives; it contains 30% less fat than other crisps, and has just 85 calories per bag; they have lots of fibres and they come in three flavours – all suitable for vegetarians (prawn cocktail, roast beef, salt and vinegar).
